Posh, Beach facing Serviced Apartment like Guest House/ Home Stay in Besant Nagar, South Chennai, India

Testimonials from some of our guests

Dear Meera and Vijayaraghavan

Just wanted to say that we had a very pleasant stay at your guesthouse. Even though there was an issue with the internet, you took care of it by giving us the sim and fixing the problem.

It was wonderful to go to the temple which was right next door and to the beach.

The accommodation was spacious and clean. Thanks for providing us with tea, coffee, and milk and snacks on our first day.

We will definitely contact you when we visit Chennai next.

The stay was very homely and the location is prime. Any issues were attended to promptly, e.g. the A/C unit had to be replaced and that was done in less than 24 hrs. Access to temples and a pristine beach is a huge plus.

The stay at Vijayaraghavan's guest house was very comfortable. The atmosphere was very homely and felt like home away from home. The children enjoyed the proximity to the beach. The facilities were very comfortable - wireless, kitchen and wash facilities is ideal for families looking flexibility to do some cooking and managing laundry on their own. Will definitely recommend to my friends and relatives.

We found the Besant nagar guest house online when we googled a service apartments online in the Adyar area. The photos were impressive and it was so easy to interact with the owner over the phone. He was extremely forthcoming with details and willing to share a lot of information. When we arrived at the house we felt the place even better than the photos. Very comfortable, convenient, clean, and relaxing. We are even more grateful for Mr. Vijayaraghavan's patience when some change with dates were needed. Overall We would recommend this place to anyone without any hesitation.

I am an experienced international traveler, and this guesthouse exceeded every expectation, and it added enormously to the pleasure of my month-long stay in India. I had some business as well as friends there, so I was searching for a home-like place near the beach of Besant Nagar.

This place is actually an apartment in a residential area less than one block from the Bay of Bengal. Actually, only a Hindu temple separates it from the beach. That means NO air contamination, a cooling breeze (I only used the ceiling fans, never needed A/C) and quietness unusual for being so near Adyar and Chennai. Because I worked, I needed Wi-Fi, which never failed me.

I walked each morning by the sea and then to nearby restaurants for breakfast. There is a selection of fine restaurants for lunch and dinner (Indian, Western, Chinese). Or do what I did, which is to order food delivered -- fast and inexpensive and delicious.

The hosts Vijay and Meera were careful not to intrude, although they were always available to provide a driver, suggestions for eating, cleaning services etc. I caught a cold, and they actually drove me to their doctor. Plus they made special accommodations available to me when I overstayed my visit.

I, on the other hand, didn't hesitate to intrude on my hosts. Because I was alone part of my stay, I sought out Vijay for conversations. His command of English exceeds mine, and it is my mother-tongue. He has a broad range of interests as well as curiosity of other subjects. He is particularly fluent in Carnatic music of South India and all aspects of Yoga as a lifestyle. His wife Meera always responded immediately to any of my needs.

I apologize for so much detail, but I want no doubt that I recommend this guesthouse and its hosts for you without reservation. It provided all I needed for that month. I am sure you will enjoy the apartment, hosts, ocean breeze and restaurants as much as I did.

I wanted to write to you to express my gratitude for the pleasure I experienced while staying in your guesthouse. Your facilities are wonderful and I cannot wait to stay with you again. Of particular note are the wonderful writings and inspirations you had to share with me. The location was great, right next to the beach. The food available nearby was wonderful. The availability of the water filter in the kitchen was a convenience that cannot be overvalued. Also, I was able to travel to all of the touring sites from you location with ease. There?s no need to stay in the middle of Chennai to access the sites. You location offers much better temperatures and the nice sea breeze. And less, much less, mosquitoes.

A suggestion if I may: Uber could be suggested to your visitors as a way to get around. We used Uber cab service no less than a dozen times and it worked out great. We used the adjacent Arupadaiveedu temple as a landmark referece. This worked out very fine indeed.

Home away from home. It was our sweet little home for 5 days. I have never stayed in such a beautiful place. Fully equipped house. Excellent locality. Sir and madam are very good persons. They took care of us very well during our stay. I would always recommend this place to all my friends and relatives.

My two daughters and I stayed at the guest house for five weeks. I have stayed in several places in Chennai and other cities in India and can say that this was the easiest, most welcoming and most comfortable. When we arrived, there were already staple items in the kitchen, and even dish and laundry soap. Vijayraghavan provided milk as well as snacks, dinner and breakfast for us our first day so that I did not immediately have to go out and could take time to settle in. He even provided books for my daughters, and for me! The neighborhood is a safe and quiet one, with a wonderful sea breeze. I felt very well taken care of and safe.

I had an excellent time staying at the guest house. I will bring my family for a longer stay. It is a centrally located home, close to beach and all shopping areas. Mr. Vijayaraghavan has been a good host and helpful in all possible ways.
